That’s the 2024 New Years wish quote I wrote in a dear friend’s card today. I imagine that this good vibe wish will give her one more reason to reach for a good life this year.
Along with it I gave her the means to choose a journal for her thoughts, dreams, and her own wishes. We are busy people and already have productivity journals, day calendars, and appointment scheduling notebooks.
For the past few weeks, I have been writing my own meme dreams for the long term and short term ahead. I love to both type and handwrite and always have a way to record my thoughts nearby. Pens, paper, cell phone, laptop, sticky notes-whatever will work to capture the bright ideas that I hear. or that pop up in my own mind.
It’s been a productive period because I have been pursuing my own past notes, work, and good ideas as well as exploring all over the internet, using Google, YouTube, Pinterest. Whatever leads to great finds.
Right now, it’s all about, once again, curating all the best info I can find on being a digital creator, a content creator - the best people, the best websites, channels, boards, and blogs to use as a resource bank to draw from and get busy. I am excited about the content I am finding! It’s been several years since my last online immersion. And the focus is changing….
While I am updating and changing up old websites, YouTube channels, Instagram and Facebook accounts, I am noticing a shift. I am leaning in to some of the new sources that talk about being my own niche, passion stacking, personalizing my writing, offering products that I use in my own life. I am a generalist, always have been. As an elementary school teacher for many years, I taught all the subjects-the elements of learning. I have a fondness for the big picture. While a lot of guidance out there still talks about niching down, I (for now) am spreading my “niche” out to include my many interest and focuses over the years.
My niches have happened sequentially, pretty much. I have delved deeply many times-into book store work, romance, teaching and curriculum, healthy life, yoga, magical thinking, first nations experience, gemstones, productivity, life coaching, tutoring, doll collection, k-pop music, affiliate marketing, writing children’s books, blogging, non-profit groups, street art…. My current contract is as an Art Gallery Curator. And I notice that that is what I have been doing all my life. Curating. I feel it is one of my best skill sets -finding and choosing the best of….
I am a serial curator.
And that will explain the topic breadth of this Express Youself website and affiliated social media. It’s all about gathering and sharing the best resources, items, ideas I run across, or create. I’m not sticking to just one area of interest, one passion. Because my throughline is schemata itself, the plan and processes, the essence of what catches my interest. Fascinating. Express it.
